Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Manhwa AI Translate Browser mobile application for iOS, shown in the App as RAWS EN (the “App”), handles, why, and what choices you have. The App is a web browser for reading manga, manhwa, and webtoon sites in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, with English translations drawn over the page as you read. This policy is issued by the developer of the App (the “Developer”, “we”, “us”), who is identified in section 14. We comply with the privacy and data protection laws that apply to us and to you, including, where they apply, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and other national, state, and local privacy laws. Where a local law gives you rights beyond those described here, we honor them.

You sign in to the App with your Google account or your Apple Account (section 2). The App contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting software.

1. Information stored on your device

The App keeps the following in its private storage on your device. None of it is sent to us.

In incognito mode, the App does not record the pages you visit in your history and does not save your incognito tabs.

The App’s built-in ad and tracker blocker runs entirely on your device. It does not send us the addresses of the pages you visit.

Deleting the App removes all of this from your device. If you use iCloud Backup or another device backup, a copy may remain in that backup, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

2. Your account

The App asks you to sign in with Google or with Apple. Sign-in is managed by Firebase Authentication, a Google service that processes this data on our behalf. When you sign in, Google or Apple shares the following with Firebase, which stores it as your account:

We use your account to confirm that requests to our translation server come from a signed-in user of the App (section 3), and to tie your subscription to your account so it can be restored on another device (section 6). Firebase’s handling of this information is described in its privacy information (firebase.google.com/support/privacy). Our legal basis, where one is required, is performance of our contract with you.

3. Translation

When translation is turned on, the App sends the following to our server so it can translate the page you are reading:

Our server sends screenshots to Google Cloud Vision, which recognizes the text in them, and sends the recognized text and the page text to Google Gemini, which translates it. The translations are returned to the App and drawn over the page. Google processes this data as our service provider under Google’s terms and privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

We do not keep the screenshots after your request has been served. The recognized text, the translations, and the page address may appear briefly in our server’s operational logs, which we use only to find and fix problems and which are deleted automatically. We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile of you, or for any purpose other than translating the page and keeping the service working.

Translation requests carry a sign-in token for your account, so our server can confirm they come from a signed-in user. We do not record which pages you translate against your account. Because anything on your screen may be sent for translation while translation is on, please do not translate pages that show sensitive personal information, such as your own messages, account details, or payment information.

Our legal basis for this processing, where one is required, is performance of our contract with you: you turn translation on, and we need this information to provide it.

4. Search

When you type in the address bar, the App sends what you type to Google to show search suggestions, and searches you run open on Google Search. These requests go directly from your device to Google, not through us, and are governed by Google’s privacy policy.

5. Websites you visit

The sites you open in the App are operated by third parties, not by us. When you visit them, they receive your IP address and other standard browser information, and they may set cookies, run their own analytics, or show their own advertising, all under their own privacy policies. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their practices.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles your payment details, name, and Apple Account; we never receive them. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

To check whether your subscription is active, the App uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service that processes data on our behalf. The App sends RevenueCat:

We use this information to deliver the subscription you bought, to restore purchases on a new device, to help you with your subscription when you contact us, to prevent fraud, and to see aggregate revenue statistics. RevenueCat’s handling of it is described in its privacy policy (revenuecat.com/privacy). Our legal bases, where one is required, are performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and operating the App.

7. Other network connections

8. What we do not do

9. Data retention

Information stored on your device stays there until you delete it or delete the App. Screenshots and page text sent for translation are not kept after the request is served, apart from the short-lived operational logs described in section 3. Your account is kept until you delete it (section 12), and is then deleted along with its sign-in records. Subscription records held by RevenueCat and Apple are retained for as long as needed to manage your subscription and to meet accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and other legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

10. Security

Translation requests are sent over encrypted connections, and we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information described in this policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The App is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, or under the higher age required by your local law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to how it is processed; to withdraw consent; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither); not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights; and to complain to a data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at qaz111id@gmail.com. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

To find your records, we match your request to the email address on your account, so please write from that address or tell us which one you signed in with. You can delete your account yourself at any time in the App, under Menu → Settings → Delete account; this signs you out and removes your account and its sign-in records. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, which you manage with Apple (see below). You can delete everything the App stores on your device at any time by deleting the App, you can stop sending pages for translation by turning translation off, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

We process the information in sections 2, 3, and 6 on the legal bases described there. Our service providers, including Google (which provides Firebase), RevenueCat, Apple, and our hosting provider, may process data in the United States and other countries; those transfers are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses, or other safeguards recognized under applicable law. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California

We collect, through the App and our service providers, the following categories of personal information: identifiers (an account identifier, your email address, your name if your sign-in provider shares it, and IP address), commercial information (subscription purchase records), internet activity (the address and content of pages you choose to translate), and device information. We collect it from you, your device, Apple, and Google, for the purposes in sections 2, 3, and 6, and disclose it only to service providers. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we have no actual knowledge that we collect personal information of consumers under 16.

Other jurisdictions

Where your local law grants you additional rights or requires additional disclosures, we will honor those rights and provide those disclosures on request.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will also notify you in the App or by other reasonable means where the law requires it. The version posted here is the one in effect.

14. Who we are and how to reach us

The App is published by an individual developer based in New Jersey, United States of America. For the purposes of data protection law, the Developer is the controller of the information described in this policy.
